WORKS ON GEOLOGICAL RESEARCHES, THAT IS EXPLORATION DRILLINGS

toranj

Department for mining works and exploration drillings conducts mining-related exploration works and exploration drilling for the needs of engineering-geological and hydro-geological research as well as exploration of mineral deposits. This research is being conducted for the purpose of development of complex bases necessary for: construction of infrastructure objects (highways, freeways and regional roads, halls, appatment buildings etc.), exploration of mineral deposit, water supply to settlements, industry and agriculture.

The Department is equipped for conduction of geotechnical drillings of all diameters up to depth of 150m, with taking of samples for geotechnical explorations, then drilling of hydrogeological exploratory, experimental and observation boreholes with mounting of piezometer pipes for the needs of hydrogeological works, drilling of exploratory-discharging wells, procurement and installation of the pipes, installing of water distribution network and other supporting water abstraction facilities as well as exloratory geological drilling with or without coring for the needs of exploration of the deposits of minerals.

Conduction of detailed geological, engineering-geological and hydro-geological explorations:

  • Detailed geological explorations aiming to determine source of raw material base,
  • Detailed engineering-geological, geo-mechanical and hydro-geological explorations,
  • Geological explorations with the aim of category change and exploration of quality characteristics of rocks,
  • Engineering-geological explorations with the aim of defining engineering-geological and physically-mechanical parameters,
  • Hydro-geological explorations with the aim of defining of hydro-geological characteristics

Exploration works:

  • Geophysical (geoelectrical) explorations;
  • Exploratory drilling;
  • Detailed geological and engineering-geological mapping of the core of the exploratory boreholes and taking samples for laboratory examination;
  • Laboratory testings of samples for raw material base;
  • Laboratory geomechanical testings;
  • Hydrogeological testings

Exploratory and laboratory works:

  • Exploratory drilling,
  • Geoelectrical sounding,
  • Hydrogeological explorations with the installation of piezometer,
  • Laboratory testing for raw material base,
  • Laboratory testing for determining of geotechnical and engineering-geological parameters

Rotary and rotary hammer drills are being used for drilling, in diameter from 60 – 120 mm (Salzgitter and Atlas Copco).

The aim of these works is to define quantitative characteristics of mineral raw materials and physical-mechanical parameters of the envirornment, which implies:

  • Economic evaluation of the bearing on the exploration space,
  • Determining of structural-tectonic characteristics of the area,
  • Defining of geo-mechanical characteristics of lithological members for calculation of safety factors of final slopes,
  • Determining of hydro-geological characteristics of the site
